The future is bleak

With the Makerfield By-election results just round the corner and Starmer under increasing pressure following the resignation of Defence Secretary John Healey, we gather some of your best comments over the past couple of weeks.

It’s incredibly frustrating that the vote on the right is becoming fragmented. Labour could be in power for the next decade unless Reform, Restore and the Conservatives get their act together. Dread to think what the state of the country will be like.

George Lakin

John Healey has effectively told Starmer that you’re putting benefits street ahead of the safety of the British people. How can any PM survive this? It takes an unbelievable level of arrogance to still think you can carry on. At least Johnson and Truss knew their time was up.

Lisa Cook

It’s scary to thing that it could get worse than Starmer and Reeves, but Burnham and Miliband as Chancellor would be a nightmare.

John Murphy

Restore need to act in the country’s best interest. Lowe is putting ego before country. Badenoch and Farage also need to work together. Labour could very easily win the next election in 2029 if the vote on the right is split. Just get Labour out!

Denise White

Miliband is a Marxist who was rejected by the British electorate in 2015 General Election.

He is now imposing his net zero ideology on the country, at enormous cost to businesses and families, if he becomes Chancellor, Britain will be done.

Graham Kenwright

Rupert Lowe should be a grown up and tell his voters to vote for Reform. If Churchill can partner with Stalin (“To crush Germany I am prepared to enter into an alliance with anyone, even the devil!”),

Lauren Jacobs

Well done John Healey. Cut net zero? No. Cut welfare? No Cut foreign aid? No. Cut illegal immigration? No Cut defence spending? Yes. Starmer is incredibly arrogant. He’ll face a challenge over the Summer, although what comes next won’t be much better.
